An Avid Lensman

By SarumStroller

On a Dull Day...

...you cannot see far...

Nothing physically added, not taken away but more changes to the original than a British Rail timetable...

Britford church is a handy local village church for all those Gothic sort of spooky shots, so stocked up on a few this morning, taken with the Nikkor 10-24mm, 'strangely' all taken at 10mm!

This little Hammer Production has had more tweaks than Joan Collins, more orange added than Dale Winton and more nips and tucks than Jordan. In other words, it doesn't look anything like it did - that would actually be quite worrying, if it did!

Almost an antidote, anti-everything to the unaltered and unedited simple soft beauty of yesterday's cherry blossom - some will like, some will not. Either way, I had a fair bit of fun fiddling with Photoshop CS5's sliders and thingies, whilst the depressing news at one was on. Btw - this has been sharpened a lot too, for an extra aggressive contrast - the lens is naturally sharp, but not in this way. A lot of pincushion distortion added too, so please don't assume that this is a characteristic of the lens, either.

There is also a straight mono version of this, to which this 'colour' was added.

And, as it's 'Red Nose' Day here in the UK today, so in tribute, a touch of red to the "thing" in the foreground.

Have a great weekend, fellow Blippers - and if you can't get the Blip you want, get creative and change it!
