Zihua Carnaval

Our own version of Carnaval is in full swing and we took in the sights following our trip to the movie theater this evening. La Cancha (the basketball court) is crowded with rides, games (one of which is shown here), and food booths in celebration of this annual event. Unfortunately for all involved, we had a very unusual for this time of year rainstorm. While there were some people out and about as we walked through the festivities on our way for a nightcap, they had all but disappeared when we, and the rain, returned a half hour later. There are still a couple more nights on the schedule, including the grand parade on Saturday. Hopefully the weather will improve and people will come out to play the games and eat the food.
