Langenseifen Chapel and Peace Tree
Like we did two weeks ago, my friend Isa and I met this afternoon, to walk one of the marked "Wisper Trails", this time around the village of Langenseifen. It was a very nice walk, 11 kilometres across hills and through wooded valleys (see extra).
The main blip shows the modern village chapel, a small church built entirely from locally grown larch wood. The artwork next to it is called Friedensbaum (peace tree).
After the walk we found another little village restaurant, and enjoyed putting back all the calories we had walked off earlier.
P.S.: I found this artist’s page with photos from the chapel build. You can see how the wooden construction went up around a huge basalt altar stone. Very unusual!
