Flying Scotsman

The Flying Scotsman is making three circuits of the Fife circle so we went to see it pass through North Queensferry on its first round. You can catch a glimpse of the Forth Bridge behind all that smoke.

So, what to do afterwards? Having read that the new café at the Kinghorn Loch Ecology Centre was open we gave that a go, and very nice it was. After coffee we wandered round the grounds, extra 1 is a sculpture made of old garden shears. From here is only a short, unmade path on the south side of the loch but here we saw yellow flag iris and Angelica Archangelica and a view across to the nursery area (extra 2) - the little crooked house is a Compus Twin Full Access  Composting Toilet, and has glass bricks painted to appear as stained glass.

The goslings we met last time are growing well, the aforementioned swan is now daddy to six fine cygnets, we heard a wren trilling, a charm of goldfinches dashed from tree to tree...all appeared to be thriving.
