Bee on Knapweed
The rain of yesterday had cleared away by this morning and the temperature dropped by several degrees with a brisk northerly breeze. A good day for a walk, especially as there was much more sun than forecast.
After delivering a meal for a family who have recently had a new baby we headed to Perth to meet our friend from Edinburgh for a walk. We went up through the forest onto open, mainly grassy, hillsides to MacDuff's Monument and the Lynedoch Obelisk above Murrayshall. The views from the latter are extensive in all directions.
Then down to the road before heading off up a lane and back over the hill to the carpark - where an enterprising young man has set up with a coffee van. He was doing brisk trade and we had the last piece of cake and he ran out of milk soon after.
Then home a time to relax.
The bee was in the forest, it was a good walk for flowers and insects with loads of Northern Marsh Orchids everywhere.
