Getting hot…

I spent much of the day with my mom. She slept from shortly after I arrived at 9:30 until 1:00. I was surprised- she always snoozes in the morning but she doesn’t usually sleep more than 2 hours. So I worked and when she woke up I made her a half a BLT sandwich (Bacon, lettuce and tomato) which she relished.

It’s getting hot - today was 95F. I am not looking forward to the weekend heat wave. I cannot imagine 10 degrees hotter or more.

The Monarda or Bee Balm has opened with the heat. Love these mint family plants! If you look closely, you’ll see one of the darned aphids that’s plaguing my garden this summer. Oh lady bug, where art thou?
