The Iron Gates of Life
Let us roll all our strength and all
Our sweetness up into one ball,
And tear our pleasures with rough strife
Through the iron gates of life....
From Andrew Marvell, To His Coy Mistress.
I think he was thinking of other things than the usefulness of baling twine and the attractiveness of shape and rustiness when he wrote that.
A companion gate to SpotsofTime's blip from yesterday. The extra is for Ceridwen who had something interesting to say about royalfern the other day. This is our pond, awash with the stuff!
Thank you for all your kind comments yesterday on my languishing post jab. Today I feel much better :) Gardening has been undertaken and as has a brief swim - so cold!!
