Kellaways (Friday 25th June 2021)

On my way into Chippenham I pulled over at my designated outdoor office (as pictured in 2004) in Kellaways, and took a path used by anglers that runs alongside the river Avon. There were even more damselflies (in Extras) than I'd seen in Castlefields, and other insects including a bee-like creature inside an opium poppy flower. Occasionally there would be a steep, slippery path down to the river, presumably angling spots, all of which I explored. This sepia blip is at one such site.

All the time I could hear the sound of rushing water, getting stronger and louder, but out of sight, so that when I was suddenly able to see it I was almost on top of two weirs, with a building behind that I now know to be Kellaways Mill Farm, but had never seen before.

I had been intending to go on to Melksham to take some pictures for Blip, but as time wore on, and as I then bought all I needed in Chippenham, I returned home on back roads.
