Relaxed Sunday
This blip is from the view I had last night when I walked up the road to a party.
The boss from Colby, where I volunteer, got married a few weeks ago. He and his wife happen to be neighbours, living just up the road from me. They wanted to throw a small party to celebrate their marriage.
The plan was to only stay for an hour seeing as my brother and his girlfriend were coming down. As you get chatting to people, you don’t realise that you’ve been there for almost 2 hours already! My Mum text me to say she’d pick me up in my car (she didn’t want me walking home on my own in the dark), I just had to tell her what time. I decided 10pm would be fine. I’d have been there 2 and a half hours then.
It was a shame to leave early, but I got to chat to a few people and it was a lovely evening. Usually I’d stay longer, but I thought I better go home and show my face before everyone went to bed.
When I got home, everyone was watching Kylie’s 2019 Glastonbury performance. Buster greeted me at the door and then went back to sleep haha We watched Kylie’s performance until the end. Everyone went to bed at pretty much the same time.
This morning when I woke up, I felt extremely tired! I almost felt a bit hungover, but I only had one drink, so I couldn’t have been! My Mum was busy getting everything ready to make them breakfast. She realised that we didn’t have any juice. I offered to go and get some. I threw some clothes on that weren’t my pjs and off I went.
I went to the mini supermarket in town. Completely forgetting that it’s Sunday, I was surprised that they weren’t open. They opened at 10 and it was only 9:30, so I had to drive back around town and go to one of the smaller shops which open earlier. I bought ground coffee and some cereal for me too.
Shopping was done, so off home I went. I had my cereal and then went for a shower.
Everyone else was going out for lunch today to a family occasion. That’s part of the reason why my brother was home. He had to pick Buster up, but seeing as his other plans were cancelled, he could now make the event and his girlfriend was invited to. That meant that someone had to stay with Buster. That someone was me!
They all left to go and have their 3 course Sunday Roast and to see our family. My Gran’s cousin and her husband were celebrating their Diamond anniversary.
I made sure Buster watched them all leave. If he doesn’t see them go, he cries and thinks their outside somewhere and he can’t see them. He did cry for a bit as he watched them drive off, but he was ok. He already had his harness on, so I got his lead and we went for a walk.
Today was the first time that I’d looked after Buster on my own. He’s such a good boy! We had a lovely walk. I was telling him what all of the Wildflowers were, but he was far more interested in sniffing the ground haha He was so well behaved, I gave him a cookie or 2 when we got home. We had some doggy peanut butter cookies and some pork & apple ones. There was only half of the peanut ones left, so I gave him that and a pork & apple one :)
For the rest of the afternoon, we just chilled. Buster slept quite a lot. He’d often switch sofas and then go back to sleep. I was just watching tv.
They were at the gathering a lot longer than expected. We didn’t hear them arrive home. Buster was fast asleep when my brother opened the front door. The sound of the door opening startled him, so he started barking. Usually he’ll hear the car even when he’s sleeping, but this must have been a deep sleep.
After an hour or so, they had to leave. We all went out to say bye. Hopefully they’ll be back to visit soon :)
As I didn’t get to have a 3 course meal, I got a Chinese takeaway for my supper. I went to collect it. On my way home, the hosts of last nights party were walking their dog. I pulled over to have a quick chat. It came up in conversation about all the dog sitting we’ve been doing and they asked if I’d dog sit for them next weekend. I agreed to. Their dog is so lovely. I’ve never dog sat him before, but I’m sure it’ll be fine. He knows me and listens to me, so it should be ok.
I had my Chinese and had extra for tomorrow, so that’s good. Think I’m going to watch a film now :)
My extra blips are from my walk with Buster. I’m currently taking part in the Wildlife Trust’s 30 Days Wild Challenge. Basically you do something Wild everyday throughout June. Today is Day 27 of the challenge and I decided to look inside a Foxglove. They’re much prettier than you realise. The other extra blip is the woodland we walked through. We didn’t see anyone else. We had the whole place to ourselves to explore :)
