In Hiding...

We went to Iping common today to see the Silver-studded blue butterflies.
Although it was hot I manged to find a fair few, sadly they were either on the wing or hiding in the tall grasses. This female was in the latter category, and it is a pretty poor shot, but I chose it as it clearly shows the metallic blue 'studs' on the hind wing from which the butterfly gets it's name. Different races seem to have less studs than others, and the ones at Iping often don't have any at all! This female however has a really great set, so she had to be my Blip,
