Rook with a Book
On the way home from Falmouth we stopped at Fowey, where the author, Daphne du Maurier, lived and found inspiration.
She wrote the short story ‘The Birds’ , which was adapted for Alfred Hitchcock’s film of the same name in 1963. ‘Isla’ the rook was unveiled in 2018 by Daphne‘a son. Created by Thrussels, father and son sculptors. Cornish herring gulls have no fear. Lovely place.
