Day 3, Heat Wave

110 degrees at 12:30 this afternoon. Salem hit 117 today. The heat takes its toll on roses, so beautiful last week, crisp now. The birds have acted very strangely too. Today, at the height of the heat, they gathered in the shade of the house, mouths agape. A maple leaf burned as well. Now with a hot wind blowing, the drying continues. Climate Change is real.
