Perth
A day trip to Perth on an unusually hot summers day.
First we visited Branklyn Garden (see extra) , a hillside garden created in the 1920’s and run by National Trust for Scotland. I can recommend the lovely scones and jam served on the lawn!
Afterwards we walked up Kinnoull Hill (729ft) for a view over The River Tay, the longest river in Scotland.
In the words of William McGonagall :
‘Beautiful, beautiful! Silvery Tay,
Thy scenery is enchanting on a fine summer day’
Very apt!
