Friday: Tofino

A bit of back blipping coming up as we’ve been away for the weekend and a certain someone forgot to take their photo uploader.

Anyway, now that provincial travel has opened up we’re making the most of it and have headed to Tofino, on the west coast of Vancouver Island, for the weekend.  

It’s a relatively long journey to get there but doesn’t feel like it, given that it’s a journey of several parts.  Just short of an hour to Horseshoe Bay, a ferry crossing of about 1hr 45mins, and then 2 1/2 hours across the island.  We also had to time it around road closures as there had been rockfall on the road quite recently.  We had a window between 3pm and 4pm when the road was open (or later in the evening) which meant we had time to stop off at Taylor Arm Provincial Park and go paddling in the lake.

Our evening in Tofino began with a visit to the excellent ‘Tofino Brewing’ (naturally) and dinner at ‘The Shed’ in town.
