Cheeky bird
When I went to sign out of the Caravan Park in Lismore this morning there were a few birds hanging around waiting for their Breakfast. This one flew onto a lady’s shoulder much to her amazement.
We couldn’t go another day without more changes to our plans. We had headed to Lismore mainly to see our Niece as we had planned to stay with her in Evans Head for the weekend. That was cancelled due to NSW Covid regulations. We weren’t sure if we should stay under Qld restrictions or go to NSW ones which are different. After a night trying to work out the best thing to do we decided to just head home and not see Nicole and family. She is a health care worker and although I doubt I have the virus would be so upset if I inadvertently passed it on.
So we had to work out the best way to get home. There were a few routes and we chose the shortest. After travelling a few hours we saw a sign to say the road was closed until August. I tried to find out info from the roads department but the wifi wasn’t good. We stopped and asked a road worker and his wifi wasn’t good enough either . So we drove onto a village and asked the attendant at the petrol station. They know everything. They said that road and the next route down south were under repairs following the rain a few months ago. So we turned around and came via Grafton, Glen Innes and got to Armidale at dusk. Another long and frustrating day.
The blip has a few scenes of the coastal sugar fields, mountainous roads and view from up on the tablelands. Guyra is about 1400m so it’s a lot cooler up here. we came up on the Gwydir Highway ( a good road with very steep climbs) and New England Highway ( + Pacific Highway on the coast).
