Mist at Kildonan
Sun at Whiting Bay (extra)
Oystercatcher chick (other extra)
After a lovely evening - good meal and enjoyable walk - we slept well (Cameraman) and reasonably (me). Such a change in the weather this morning - low cloud and comparatively chilly. But we are on holiday, in Scotland so we stuck to Plan A. Firstly over to Blackwaterfoot where we had the most relaxing beach walk. It was so misty you couldn't see the Kintyre Peninsula just across the water. But it was great to be by the laziest of seas with next to no movement on the water. A bit of sea glass picked up - lovely tiny, smooth, opaque pieces.
On to Kildonan which is a favourite spot. Again so misty as the main shows. Ailsa Craig and the Ayrshire coast weren't visible but it was clear that the sun was going to win. Cormorants and hoodie crows but no seals to be seen today. Lunch outside the hotel watching the tide come in - warm artichoke salad. Very good it was too.
On the way back we stopped at Whiting Bay for an Arran icecream and to marvel at the turquoise sea. Great to see lots of children enjoying their time on the beach.
It's now time for some blip/silent reading before a swim. You can't just turn up to swim and our slot today is at 5:15. I definitely won't need the allotted 45 minutes but I want to have a bit of a stretch. Then shower, change and more food.
A good day.
