San Pedro de La Collada

Not well documeted, San Pedro de La Collada. The experts say its construction suggests a pre-romanesque antecedence (ie 10th century or before) but a mainly romanesque (ie 11th to 13th century) construction, with additions in the 16th century.
Whatever, that came to an end in the Spanish Civil War when it was a victim of reprisals against the Catholic Church for their support for Franco´s Nationalists. The church was burnt down, and remains in ruins. The main photo shows the interior of the church, with several arches and a lot of vegetation - which apparently includes saplings from the roots of the centuries-old yew tree which stands nearby but which has tunneled its way into the church. Local residents now have a new church, but are seeking funds to rescue this one.
