Arachnophobia

Meet Syd. Syd is a magnificent rain spider...at the moment, he resides inside a very large, upside down, plastic cup that has been wedged into the branches of a tree.

Syd was found inside my sister's house yesterday...chilling up high on the ceiling of a bedroom. I have no real problem with spiders except when they are the size of your hand and chilling up high on the ceiling, so I was very grateful to find out that Syd was safely captured and evicted prior to our arrival.

Folklore goes that that when this beast is found high up on your walls, the rain is near and when he is found scurrying along the ground, a drought will continue. Hence the name, rain spider.

My own arachnophobia is somewhat accute and to blip him, I had to get quite close. He was happy to pose and kept very still.
