Whooper Swan #75

This is "Wendy" the Whooper Swan who has taken up residence along with the nearly 100 Mute Swans at Spike Island. I'm not sure where she came from as I have never seen a Whooper Swan at Spike Island before. She arrived when we were on holiday and is apparently making herself at home but is not very sociable. 

We just went for a short walk this morning as I wanted to do more in the garden, and anyway, the other sightings were few and far between. Not one warbler on the marsh and the unofficial feeding station was completely empty. Kath, the lady that puts out food every day, must be at her caravan in Flint! 

We heard today that Gary, the guy who comes and cuts our grass, has had a mountain biking accident last weekend and is in a coma. He lost over 4 pints of blood after crashing into a wall. The details are very sketchy as we heard from someone else who knows him. I do hope he pulls through and gets better soon and my heart goes out to his wife and 2 children. We have known him since the day we moved in 19 years ago.
