Heatherbell

Another visit to the Dava, this time to Heather Bell. This zinc clad cottage was built for railway workers, probably in the 1860s. The house is constructed from sheets of, now rusty, corrugated zinc and there are timber out buildings. The roof is held in place by wires which pass over it and are attached to large boulders at ground level. The remains of a garden still have daffodils and currant bushes. Unfortunately the site is despoiled by litter.
