Woody backblip
This male juvenile Great Spotted Woodpecker was feeding on peanuts at the neighbours. They visit ours occasionally but their nut sac is way bigger than what I bought.
Later on, I was watching a magpie through the lens which was tearing at something on the ground and I realised it was another bird. That evening the neighbour told us he had seen a magpie swoop on a woodpecker leaving the feeder and killed it. It was probably the juvenile but I didn’t go to inspect it after Hubby asked me if I wanted to photograph it. Not sure why I would.
