Intense heat

The news reports of West coast Canada are worrying as the heat bubble persists. We have friends and relatives - some of them elderly - in that part of the world and we worry how they are coping with the extremely high temperatures. The radio news reported in people sleeping in their cars in underground car parks because it was fractionally cooler there. Not an option for everyone.

We did have the option of not lighting the candles on our daughter’s 29th birthday cake.but that would not have been the same. The heat was no less intense though and even the chocolate ganache began to melt. It was still tasty and we enjoyed a lovely BBQ as well.
