Lost calf

Spent a good four hours today trying to help a neighbour reunite a cow with its new born calf.

Mum hid her calf in the long grass and then went off with the herd for a feed. Problem was, a cattle dog pup found the calf and chased it into the bush. The calf went through a barbed wire fence, injuring itself in the process, and then was nowhere to be found.

After covering what seemed to be every blade of grass looking for the poor creature with no luck, Plan B was to get Mum to come back across the creek and sniff it out.

Today's blip is yours truly playing cow herd.

The sad news is, Mum couldn't find the calf either :(
