Snowshoe-ing with Shelton
We drove up to Badger Pass in Yosemite today, to join in a ranger-led snowshoe walk. It turned out to be just Mark and I on the walk in the end, which suited us fine, especially as the ranger was so interesting to talk to. About 10 minutes into our walk I thought there might be something a bit special about our ranger, and I wasn't wrong. His name is Shelton Johnson, look him up if you have time, and he is an incredible man, so full of knowledge and inspiration, it really was an honour to spend a few hours with him. It was an experience we will never forget.
Handy hint: if you're ever snowshoe-ing then the back of the line is the easiest place to walk, and those in front flatten the snow and make a nice path for you!
