Something for the D.H. Lawrence Fans
Cathy and I visited Hidcote today - a National Trust property near Chipping Camden in the Cotswolds. It took longer getting there and back than we'd hoped as the traffic seemed much heavier than we anticipated - something to do with staycations and UK based holidays I suspect.
The overcast skies never really cleared until we were on our way back, so it didn't look as amazingly colourful as it might, but it did mean that the light was better for this shot than it might otherwise have been. I've solved the boring sky problem by choosing a crop that largely takes it out of the picture.
It took a while of my sitting there patiently until the red walk was free from other visitors leaving just the chap doing the weeding, which is probably why he's looked up wondering what I'm up to: "He's probably just another of those closet Lady Chatterly fans with a fetish for Gardeners..."
As you can see - the plants look wonderfully healthy. You were looking at the plants weren't you?
