New potatoes
D wondered if we had potatoes we could eat, since we had run out of conventional supplies. I dug up a few stray plants that had originated from last years moochers. They were mostly great but I think a few small Jerusalem artichokes had joined the potatoes and the stem potatoes, whilst they looked fine were not really a joy to eat. We added mint the water, as we often do. D harvested a lot of mange tout peas, already frozen. I did a lot of mowing.
At last, both Carla and Kminek have been returned to the comparative wild of the great outdoors after months in captivity. We flattered ourselves that they would miss our company but were quickly disillusioned.
