A Coiled Spring

Lovely Top Field walk with my daughter and Frankie dog. It wasn't very busy, we had a good chat and met a few nice people and their hounds.

This afternoon I spotted this large skipper butterfly probing with its proboscis deep into the freshly opened knapweed flowers. I watched as it reeled the organ in ready to flit to the next bloom.
