Another Elmer

Those of you who are familiar with the Discworld novels by Terry Pratchett will know the the world is carried on the back of 4 elephants standing on the back of a giant turtle.

Here’s the Maidstone’s equivalent of the Discworld with the town carried on an elephant. There are 82 of these elephants around the town as part of https://elmermaidstone.co.uk. some created by schools, others by professional artists.

We visited friends in Frittenden in the late afternoon for drinks and nibbles which took up most of the rest of the evening and involved more than just nibbles. Duncan is a connoisseur of Irish whiskey so we ended the evening sampling three from his extensive collection. We tried Green Spot and Red Spot: https://shop.jamesonwhiskey.com/products/green-spot and one matured in Irish Stout casks. All were very tasty.
