Central Otago Rail Trail
Yesterday's ride was heaps easier that Thursday's. We thought we should have a look at the famous 'Rail Trail', so drove to Lauder to cycle one of the most spectacular sections that runs above the Poolburn Gorge, through two tunnels and a viaduct. The viaduct has been fenced for cyclists and walkers.... it's a long way down. We also cycled up to the highest point on the trail, not far from Wedderburn. Gentle gradients, as befits an old train route.
