Power Line Incident

Today was crazy.  

As a result of yesterday's heavy rains, one of the power poles along the back of out lot gave way and leaned into the pine trees.  The move pulled an anchor out of our house that was attached to the phone lines.  That was the noise that alerted us to the issue.  While this event would have been bad enough, the guests were just beginning to arrive for the open house we were hosting to celebrate our oldest's college graduation!  I had already reported the pole malfunction to the power company via the phone app, but after we noticed that the tree was smoking where the line was touching it we called 911.  The fire department sent a truck over and they guys also reported the line against the tree.  The good thing is we never lost power, it never really rained on our party,  and I got a blip for today!
