Ms S says that I researched and found that this plant is a type of crocosmia. I have no recollection of doing this and in any case would happily stand corrected.
An early morning visit to the hospital for an x-ray on my knee. I am not optimistic that it will show anything but could eliminate some possibilities. Overall, there has been considerable improvement which means that I have been able to tidy up the garage (again), taking garden rubbish to the tip and then clean my car. The knee remains swollen and is painful if I put any weight or stress on it, but it is liveable with at present.
