Oystercatchers

Today's the day .................... to stand on one leg

If there are millions of orchids on the island of Tiree, there must be quite a few thousand oyster catchers.  

They hang about near the coast, often in large groups and are unmistakable with their dapper black and white plummage and those red beaks.  They seem to spend quite a lot of time either having noisy quarrels with each other - or standing on one leg.

Just like the ringed plover in extras ...................
