Lake Windermere

We have escaped for a few nights as a late 60th birthday celebration to a nice hotel at Lakeside which is right at the bottom of Lake Windermere. We had a job finding anywhere in the Lake District or Northumberland (our first choice) as everything is booked up for most of the summer. Fortunately, it is a bit quieter here then the main tourist hotspots of Ambleside and Windermere town. 
This is a view from outside the hotel as the last ferry heads north up the lake to Bowness. It has been grey and drizzly since we arrived, and tomorrow is forecast for the same, but a bit of rain won't spoil our little holiday.
