Teasel water trap
There was a lot of rain last night, so the teasel plants have little collections of water where the leaves join the stem. There were insects drowned in two of them, which made me have a little google, and I found that some people consider the teasel to be carnivorous, because the plants have been shown to benefit if they are provided with an ample supply of insects. The authors reported "There were no significant treatment effects on biomass, but addition of dead dipteran larvae to leaf bases caused a 30% increase in seed set and the seed mass:biomass ratio."
