Chair

I have spent my entire life with this chair. It originally belonged to my great grandmother, and was eventually handed down to my mother. It took pride of place in the sitting room of the English house I grew up in. Now it is in "semi-retirement" doing light duty in the guest room of my American home.

Here it is some 52 years ago, with yours truly (in my nurse phase) posing with a new Christmas book in December, 1961.
