Emily Williamson

We had a really busy day filming the unveiling of the 4 shortlisted designs for a new statue coming to Fletcher Moss Park in Didsbury.

The new statue will be of Emily Williamson, who lived nearby,  loved birds and was appalled by the plumage trade. Her campaigning was pivitol in the founding of what was to become the RSPB.

All 4 shortlisted artists are in my shot, as well as Emily's great, great niece, statue campaign founders Andrew Simcock and author Tessa Boase, as well as Becky Speight, the RSPB CEO.
