Saffron's victim

Unfortunately Saffron is improving her hunting skills. She's caught a few birds recently, mostly sparrows like this poor little one that was feasting on the fallen mulberries. Each time she lays the bird gently on the ground at my feet and miaows. I'm not sure if she's presenting me with a gift or asking me to wind up her toy!
An enjoyable evening - an old friend visiting her village house from England for a couple of weeks came round to dinner.
