Ominous

But fortunately it didn't rain before I got back. Looked like it might be another downpour on the way. Porty was only regularly wet yesterday and we seemed to miss the flash floods elsewhere in the city. I think I read that parts of the city got a month's worth of rain in half an hour. Not surprising the drainage system couldn't cope whether or not there had been proper maintenance. But some people just seem to like any stick to beat the council. Which is a shame, as it is the neoliberal playbook in operation once again - starve a public service of funds, create public dissatisfaction, sell off cheap to private capital / privatise a public service using public money to 'solve' a problem of their own making. Leading to a more expensive, poorer service that sucks more money out of the local economy. A pity that people can't see the real villains.
