The Local Woods

Just below the castle is the old quarry where the stone was quarried to build it. Bike trails have been built which wind through the wood along with paths for walkers. I managed to find a short spell of dry weather to give Jet his morning walk. We are so lucky to have this on our doorstep.

This afternoon we weren’t quite so lucky!

Had a lovely surprise this morning when the postman arrived. Stephen had sent me a limited edition print of a Herdy sold in aid of habitat restoration in Ullswater and Matterdale. This was followed up with a catch up with both Thomas and Stephen. A good way to round off the day.
