2021 Saturday — The Day Before
The big holiday is tomorrow. This little coast town is full of vacationers; it is swollen like a huge water ballon with population.
Today is the 50th wedding anniversary of our new Cayucos friends, Tom & Joy. So we needed to make a run to get some groceries and a few other items, and I selected a bouquet of red roses to take to them.
Then I took the bouquet to the floral clerk to ask if she had some tissue to wrap them in; she took the bouquet from me and wrapped them beautifully in tissue and ribbon, for no charge. I was quite surprised and certainly pleased. So we stopped at Tom & Joy’s place and left them on a table on the porch because they were out to dinner with friends and family.
Earlier in the day, I had put Mitzi up on my bathroom countertop to clip her fur. She has been too warm lately with all the fur. So, I call this her “Covid Cut” because I didn’t take her to the groomer. Mitzi is 12+ years old and a morning or afternoon at the groomer’s shop is quite a strain for her, so it’s just “easier” (at least for her) if I trim her fur. The trim job would receive an “F” if it were getting a grade, but we really don’t care, and I was able to trim her ears to have the “teddy bear” look that I have requested the last two times that we have taken her to the groomer’s place (and they didn’t do as I requested with her ears). I planned to bath her, but she’s tired so I’ll do that in a day or two. I like the reflection of her on the tile in our entryway.
That’s it for this Saturday.
Happy July 3rd.
