Fire!

Nothing puts more fear in a west coaster than the sight or smell of fire. An abandoned farmhouse burned down today. Fortunately someone spotted it early, and there wasn’t much wind, and the fire trucks (from 5 separate fire halls) arrived very quickly. If it was windy, we could have had a real problem on our hands, as any little ember could have ignited the neighbourhood because of the extremely dry vegetation here.
