I'm no Mary Berry

Day 75

I had a lovely day of cooking planned ready for a dinner party with my Bestie and her Hubbie this evening, bent down to a get a new dish cloth out the cupboard under the sink and heard a 'pop'! It was my back!! Its happened lots of times before so I knew the drill. Coudn't then stand up straight, a few days of spasm then a week of feeling like I have been punched on the back from neck to bottom!!! Great.

But I soldiered on and hubbie accidentally overdosed me on Brufen, forgetting they were the double strength ones we bought from Lanzarote as I really didn't want to cancel Bestie! I cooked a Curry and mustered up a Mary Berry Queen of Puddings!!! After a few disasters with the eggs and having to start again with the meringue as the first lot wouldn't 'peek', I managed to get a decent looking Pudding - seen here. That was till it went in the oven and came out half black!!!!
But they still ate it pulling funny faces!!

I had a really lovely evening, despite the pain and feels good to have a catch up with your besties!!

Daughter number 1 also joined us this evening as she's having boyfriend troubles. She just needed a cuddle and hot water bottle!
