River of Flowers

Thursday: Red Wharf Bay

A drizzly start to the day but soon dried.
MrD spent most of the day in his shed working on a new project …!
At lunch time walked down the lane in the hope of picking samphire having seen it growing well yesterday near Church Island.
Had quite a job actually seeing the samphire, it was only about an inch tall - must be so much colder here ... will try again in a a week or so, if it's warm enough!
Took lots of photos of "edible" plants down on the beach and just above  high water mark:
saltbush, sea beet (recognised it because I have some in a pot at home), sea radish (the seed pods very similar to Munchen Bier radish  https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2260111 ) lots of brassica type yellow flowers, a tall chamomile - not sure what type. See today’s extra …
Walking back up the lane there were so many wildflowers: red and white clover, wild rose & honeysuckle, wild orchids, a pretty aquatic sky blue flower.
Have had homegrown food with all my meals today: raspberries with yogourt and muesli for breakfast, salad with lunch and freshly picked shallots in omlette for tea ...
Made a few more DNA connections today, the Llandwrog branch is proving very useful :-))
Stay safe & healthy & happy everyone :-)
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
