Dangling Plumes

I've photographed plume moths before but this is my first image of a mating pair. They were perfectly camouflaged amongst the grass seedheads. I think they're yarrow plume moths, which figures as there's a stand of these plants near where I took the picture.

Yarrow gets its scientific name Achillea from a story that Achilles used it to staunch the flow of blood from the wounds of his troops. The dangling moth in my pic reminds me of Achilles himself. His mother held him by the heel as she dipped him in the River Styx to render him invulnerable, leaving his heel where she gripped him unprotected.
