Little Miss Leaver
Miss L had a day off today as it should have been her induction day at her new school. That didn't stop her wearing her lovely Leavers Hoodie into town at lunchtime!
And channeling her inner teenager she put her earbuds in the minute we set foot out of the house.
And got in a grump when Mr K started singing and being annoying and embarrassing as we walked down the road.
Then got into more of a grump when I told her off for being in a grump.
Sigh.
Nana was in town with Elsie as my dad had a delivery to make from the shop so she walked down to meet us. Rather embarrassingly Miss L greeted her with a face like a slapped fish. Sigh.
We headed to the ice cream parlour but there were no seats outside which meant Nana had to head off to the park rather than coming in with us. I would have suggested somewhere else but the whole point was to go there to get a slushy for Miss L as a special treat.
Once we were sat inside with our slushy (Miss L), cappuccino (Mr K) and tea (me) Miss L miraculously cheered up and was a bit mortified that she'd been so rude to Nana. I noticed a dog bowl inside so asked the woman if dogs were allowed. Yes they were! So I rang Nana. She was miles away in the park but headed back to join us. Just after Mr K had headed home to get back to work.
Miss L had said that she wanted to go to the new takeaway that's opened where Looby Lu's used to be. So we headed up after saying goodbye to Nana.
It was strange being in there and it looking so different. Completely unrecognizable. Miss L had an amazing deconstructed falafel wrap. Deconstructed because they don't have any gluten free wraps! Homemade hummus and olive oil, onions, gherkins, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, and four huge falafels all drizzled with a tahini dressing. It was proper delicious!
We sat on a bench while she ate it and I held the huge golf umbrella over our heads. I felt like a ball-girl at Wimbledon!
She then bought herself a popper thing on the market and another one in WHSmith, along with a lottery ticket. All the way back up the hill we talked about what she'd do with her winnings. This time next week we'll be millionaires.....
It was the first semi final tonight. Italy v Spain. Italy won on penalties eventually. Tired themselves out nicely hopefully!!
