SILLY SATURDAY - "OI, YOU LOT, GET OUTTA THERE!"
Hello Lovely Blippers,
We were quite disappointed when we woke up this morning to find that it was raining, because after we had had a little chat, we had decided to go out and play in the garden. We had spied Mr. HCB’s contraption where he grows his runner beans and thought it would make a good climbing frame.
We could see that Mr. HCB was already out in the garden skulking around and pottering in the greenhouse, so we quickly raced out, and climbed partway up the contraption. It was quite difficult, and you can see that Snowy is having a problem and can’t manage to climb the right way up. Penny Penguin is quite tangled up with the netting - we told her to take her hat off, but she wouldn't listen. However, Hoggy managed very well and despite it being very challenging, got a fair way up. However, I didn’t manage to get as high as the others, but then I do carry a bit more weight than they do and I had to watch them all to make sure they didn't injure themselves!
We were having a really good time when we suddenly saw Mr. HCB coming out of the greenhouse and heard him shouting “Oi, you lot, get outta there!” Poor Hoggy lost his footing and almost fell inside the contraption, but I just managed to put out my arm to stop him. Tiny got very flustered and you can see that the netting is in a most embarrassing place - it was a good job he had his thick red trousers on! We think that Admirer would have giggled if she had seen us all.
Mr. and Mrs. HCB need to go to the opticians this afternoon, so perhaps while they are out, we may be able to go out there and have another go at climbing right to the top - you know the old saying, “What the eye doesn’t see, the heart doesn’t grieve over”! However, we will need to be very careful because the runner beans are starting to flower and we don’t want to do any damage.
Take care and have a lovely day, even if it’s raining. No doubt many of you will be cheering England on tomorrow evening in the EURO 2020 Final at Wembley. We heard Mrs. HCB say she might even watch the game and we know Mr. HCB will be hoping she won’t ask too many stupid questions, although the one she does ask regularly is, “What colour are England?” You can tell she’s not a football fan!
With love from
JH Ted, Tiny, Snowy, Penny Penguin and Hoggy xxxxx
