Spud
Spud.
So I said to Sue 'What's that nice white flower near the Shack" She smiled and said 'It's a Potato. Its there because we used the soil from our old raised vegetable patch and there must have been a potato in it"
I think it's quite pretty.
According to wikipedia, Potato's were domesticated approx 7,000 - 10,000 years ago in Southern Peru / Bolivia from a species in the 'Solanum brevicaule'.
Todays potatoes (Solanum tuberosum) were brought to Europe in the 16th Centry by the Spanish.
The potato is a nightshade in the genus Solanum, as is the Tomato.
Bring on the Chips :)
