Lucky

It was a wet morning, and we have visitors coming to stay next week,  so we could no longer put off  doing  much needed housework. 

This afternoon the weather  was brighter, and we had an outdoor meeting with like -minded local friends regarding a parish Green Picnic, which we are planning to hold in  September. Our idea is to encourage people to live more  sustainably, and to develop a  wildlife -friendly gardening community. So, at the  picnic we will have stalls run by local groups to share  ideas, information, and support with  those people interested in getting  more involved with Green issues. 

On our way to and from the meeting we came across a local character cat, who is called Lucky. She 's always up for a stroke and tickle behind the ears, and my husband was happy to oblige.  Unfortunately, a few years  ago she was involved  in a horrible  road  traffic  accident,  had to have her left hind leg  amputated, and ended up in Battersea  Dogs and  Cats Home, where she was  rescued by her current, doting, owners, who named her Lucky. She  is obviously not a great hazard to birds and most other wildlife, which makes us  extra fond of her!
