The busiest bridge in the lakes .... today!
A walk from Tilberthwaite to Little Langdale today. I wanted to visit Hodge Close to see a disused slate quarry which I thought might make a good photograph. I have included one as an extra but was a bit disappointed with the reflections as it has been quite overcast today .... and I am a bit scared of heights and didn't want to go too close to the edge! There were a group of men close by abseiling over the edge, rather them than me!
We walked a rather long route to Little Langdale (an unusual error by my husband!) to a favourite place for lunch only to arrive and find there was no food being served, never mind there were enough snacks and drinks in our bag to keep us going!
On our way back we saw this lovely pair of Herdwick looking down on us in a rather bemused way. I wanted to photograph Slater bridge but there was an almost constant stream of people crossing it, eventually I realised they were part of a fell trial, all 62 miles of it, apparently they had 10 miles to go at this point! Eventually there was a gap and I managed a couple of different shots.
