Sea Milkwort
Another trip to Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe NNR today, where Pete and Chris were finishing off last year's work (that was disrupted by Covid) and starting a new project monitoring the invertebrate fauna of the saltmarsh.
I just had fun pottering around and photographing this wonderful site. The Marsh Helleborines (see extra) , which are locally very abundant, were looking stunning, but they were relegated to second choice by the intricately beautiful but tiny flowers of Sea Milkwort, a common enough plant of coasts all around Britain, but not a species I see very often in flower.
